WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ROCK THE STONE PONY IN ASBURY PARK, NEW JERSEY OCTOBER 17, 2016

SBDC NEW JERSEY AT BROOKDALE COMMUNITY COLLEGE HOSTS THIRD ANNUAL “WOMEN ENTREPRENEURS ROCK” EVENT FOR BUSINESS OWNERS AND ASPIRING ENTREPRENEURS THROUGHOUT NJ

On Monday October 17, 2016, The Small Business Development Center (SBDC) New Jersey at Brookdale Community College will present its third annual “Women Entrepreneurs Rock” event at the legendary Stone Pony in Asbury Park, NJ from 6:00pm-9:30pm (with networking until 10pm). This free event is for business owners and aspiring entrepreneurs throughout New Jersey. The goal of the Women Entrepreneurs Rock event (#WeRockSmallBiz and #WER3) is to facilitate a real dialog about topics that are important to women business owners, with this year’s focus on leadership.

This is, by far, not your standard business function. From the topics to the venue to the speakers, our goal is to meet entrepreneurs where they live and offer current and candid insight, as we did in our previous events. No formalities and no canned responses…just real information from those who have successfully navigated the process of launching and growing a business and leading a team. The panelists will discuss their backgrounds, successes and challenges along the way and offer advice to fellow business owners. There will also be live Q&A exchange as well as the ability to pre-submit questions for the panel to discuss at the event.

According to the 2016 State of Women-Owned Businesses report produced by American Express, “As of 2016, it is estimated that there are now 11.3 million (11,313,900) women-owned businesses in the United States, employing nearly 9 million people (8,976,100) and generating over $1.6 trillion ($1,622,763,800,000) in revenues. Between 2007 and 2016, the number of women-owned firms increased by 45%, compared to just a 9% increase among all businesses. Therefore, over the past nine years, the number of women-owned firms has grown at a rate fully five times faster than the national average.”

America’s Small Business Development Center New Jersey at Brookdale Community College is proud to announce that the keynote speaker for Women Entrepreneurs Rock 3 is Marilyn Schlossbach, Owner and Executive chef of the Marilyn Schlossbach Group which includes Langosta Lounge, Pop’s Garage, Asbury Park Yacht Club, Lightly Salted Surf Shop, the Labrador Lounge and What’s Your Beef and the event will be moderated by the Co-Founder/Owner of Rook Coffee, Holly Migliaccio.

The 2016 panel of dynamic entrepreneurs includes:

  • Nicole Feliciano – Founder & CEO of Momtrends Media / Author of Mom Boss
  • Maria Popo – Founder of AMP10x / President of Ubee Interactive
  • Jamie Queli – Founder and CEO of Forgotten Boardwalk Brewing Company
  • Tracey L. Wolfman – CEO of We Care Adult Care
