Prepare for the Increase in Unemployment Insurance Tax

Employers should expect an increase in their unemployment insurance tax contributions this year due to the large number of unemployment claims filed in the last year. The first increased tax payment will be due October 2021 and covers the July-September 2021 quarter. Rate notices for FY2022 have been sent directly to employers. Employers who are registered with NJDOL’s Employer Access portal received the notices online.
